Birgitta har varit engagerad i Svalorna sedan 1975, bl a som som rådgivare i miljö- och kooperationsfrågor i Tamil Nadu ett par år och som koordinatör på kontoret i Lund 1988-2002. Hon har lång erfarenhet inom folkrörelse- och folkbildningsarbete, inom Emmausrörelsen, på Sandöskolan och på Glokala folkhögskolan.

Arwid är Svalornas kommunikatör sedan våren 2016. Han har en kandidatexamen i strategisk kommunikation och en yrkesexamen i visuell kommunikation. Arwid har en bakgrund inom kommunikation och insamling och har tidigare arbetat med ett flertal ideella organisationer.

Ellen har arbetat på Svalorna sedan 2013 och är nu vikarierande ekonomiansvarig. Ellen har en kandidatexamen i mänskliga rättigheter och fokuserat mycket på utvärdering och barns rättigheter i kommunal förvaltning. Innan hon började på Svalorna arbetade hon med rättighetsbaserade utvärderingar och höll i utbildningar i mänskliga rättigheter.

Maria Persson koordinerar Svalornas praktikantprogram sedan 2014, som syftar till att ge unga vuxna erfarenhet av hur Svalornas partners arbetar med internationella utvecklingsfrågor i Indien och Bangladesh. Maria har själv gjort praktik genom Svalorna och har senare också varit styrelsemedlem. Maria har en akademisk bakgrund inom mänskliga rättigheter, genus- och utvecklingsstudier med en masterexamen från Institute of Development Studies.

Anitha Santhakumari joined The Swallows in 2011 as India Office Director and has a Bachelors and Masters degree in Social work. Anitha has 15 years of professional experience in planning, designing and implementing strategies to bring about a desired social change. Her competence includes issues affecting marginalized communities, gender, livelihood and environment among other things.

Abdul has a post graduate degree in commerce and has done a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) in Finance.  He has more than 10 years professional experience in managing finance and accounts of development organizations in India. Prior to joining The Swallows Abdul worked with Rural Development Trust (RDT) in Ananthapuramu (Andhra Pradesh) as an Accounts Manager and has handled key responsibilities including donor Specific project reporting, monitoring of partner NGOs, dealing with statutory and legal compliances of organization (FCRA & Income Tax Returns to Govt. of India).

Shiuly Hoque

Shiuly Hoque joined The Swallows India Bangladesh in January 2011 and as Director of the Bangladesh office. She did her post graduation in Marketing from the University of Dhaka. Shiuly has 22 years work experience in the field of finance, accounts and operational management in development organizations where she was appointed as a head of finance and admin of the organizations to administer different development programme and projects. Before joining The Swallows she was the Project Manager of Bangladesh chapter of SABAH, a regional project of SAARC (South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation).

Sadia Afroze Sultana joined The Swallows India Bangladesh as Programme Coordinator in September 2009. She holds a Bachelor of Arts and an Masters of Arts degree in English Literature from University of Dhaka. She has further pursued her Master in Development studies from Brac University. She has extensive field experience working with the rural communities has worked with RBA (Rights Based Approach) and Participatory approach, project designing, writing project proposals, project monitoring and evaluation among other things. Prior to joining The Swallows she has worked with IRI (International Republican Institute) in the area of strengthening democratic governance and multi-party political systems in Bangladesh. She has also undergone a short internship program of UNDP on strengthening parliamentarian democracy in Bangladesh.

 

 

Shajeda Begum

Shajeda Begum joined The Swallows India Bangladesh as Programme Coordinator in April 2015, subsituting for Sadia Sultana who is on parental leave. As a development activist she has about twenty years experience of work in programmes design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, partnership management ans well as Training & Capacity Development. She did her graduation in Sociology and post graduation in History from the University of Chittagong.  Presently she is studying on MPH degree.
